Outside Aid: Alternative Loans
Students are able to apply for scholarships and loans from third-party organizations and lending institutions. We are happy to assist you in finding as many outside sources of assistance as you are eligible for.
Alternative Loans
For the balance that is not covered by scholarships and grants, low-interest loans are available from a variety of institutions. Franciscan University of Steubenville recommends that you use one of the Preferred Alternative Lenders available through FASTChoice, a service of Great Lakes Educational Loan Services. If you have a bank you are more comfortable doing business with, that's fine too.
New Regulations have changed the process slightly.
Keep in mind that alternative loans are private loans that must be repaid. A credit check is required at application.
