You will have three curriculum components in your studies in the Master of Science in Nursing Program. First, you will have 22 hours of graduate core classes such as Theoretical Foundations and Bioethics in Nursing. Next you will need to take nine hours of Advanced Practice Nursing classes, including Advanced Assessment and Pharmacology, Advance Pathophysiology, and Therapeutics. Finally you will have 15 to 17 credits to complete for your training as a Family Nurse Practitioner or as an Education Specialist.

The Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum will prepare you for national certification through a national credentialing center and enable you to apply to your State Board of Nursing for authority to practice.

The Education Specialist curriculum will equip you to practice as an advanced practice nurse educator for hospital patients, families, communities, and healthcare consumers. You will also acquire the knowledge and ability to incorporate and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum theories, instructional methods, and teaching/learning theories for teaching in various hospital, community, and educational settings.
