  • College Credits for National Right to Life Academy Students

Five weeks of rigorous study towards a comprehensive pro-life education.

    April 30, 2013

STEUBENVILLE, OH—Beginning this summer, students who complete the National Right to Life Academy program will be eligible to receive academic credit from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Students will receive three academic credits through Franciscan’s Human Life Studies Program, which will be applied to the program’s Selected Themes course. Dr. Stephen Krason, Franciscan University political science professor and president and co-founder of the Society of Catholic Social Scientists, spearheaded the endeavor.

"The academy's program gives college students a strong intellectual foundation in the many different aspects of the life issues: medical, scientific, ethical, legal, and historical, and helps to shape the skills that will enable them to better communicate intelligently and cogently the pro-life message,” Krason said.

The National Right to Life Academy’s program explores issues such as abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, and cloning.

Students can apply the credits from the program to a degree from Franciscan University or transfer them to their respective colleges.

The National Right to Life Academy, located at the National Right to Life Committee office in Washington, D.C., engages college students in five weeks of rigorous study to provide them with a comprehensive pro-life education. Students are trained to become effective pro-life advocates both on their college campuses and in their future careers.

This summer’s program begins June 27. To apply or find out more, call the National Right to Life Academy at 202-626-8822, visit the NRLC Academy website, or email academy@nrlc.org.
