STEUBENVILLE, OH—Art wields the power to reveal the invisible and render hope, beauty, and goodness tangible. Artist Louis Bosco will discuss art’s illuminating power on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Franciscan University of Steubenville. His talk, “Images of the Unseen: The Mysteries of Life Revealed in Sacred Art,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Tony and Nina Gentile Gallery in the J.C. Williams Center.
Bosco will investigate the rich history of Western art from a Catholic perspective and discuss how Catholics can enter more deeply into the mind of the Church through art.
Bosco holds a master of fine arts degree from the George Washington University and a master of arts in theology and Christian ministry from Franciscan University. He is the author of Images of the Unseen: The Mysteries of Life Revealed in Sacred Art, which will be available for purchase at the event.
The talk is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Franciscan University’s Fine Arts Department and the Catechetics Department.
