Letter from Father Dave

The Lord give you peace.
I invite you to join me and Franciscan University on a pilgrimage to Blessed John Paul II’s homeland of Poland. I have visited this beautiful country numerous times, and each time I am richly blessed by my experience. I am sure you will be, too, as we explore the historical and spiritual treasures Poland holds for us as Catholics.
During our seven-day pilgrimage, we will visit Warsaw, Częstochowa—home of the Black Madonna, St. Maximilian Kolbe’s death cell at Auschwitz, the enchanting city of Krakow, and the Divine Mercy Shrine, where we will venerate the relics of St. Faustina. Finally, we will celebrate Blessed John Paul’s feast day in his hometown of Wadowice! These are only some of the wonderful places we will visit on this blessed week of pilgrimage.
Please prayerfully consider joining me for seven days of prayer, fellowship, and inspiration from the life of John Paul II and the saints of his beloved Poland. I am certain that you will be blessed by God and will fall in love with Poland just as I have.
Blessed John Paul—Pray for us!
Father Dave Pivonka, TOR
Spiritual Director

We will have Mass in the churches of St. Catherine and of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will tour the Winter Palace, the palace of Catherine the Great, and Petergof, built by Peter the Great to rival Versailles, and the Cathedral of the Spilled Blood.
