The Testing Center provides a quiet, reduced distraction environment to take tests with specific accommodations. Qualified students have access to computer-based word-processing, assistive technology programs, and reading assistance. Consult the Disability Services Student Handbook for testing procedures.
The Student Academic Support Services (SASS) Office is available throughout the academic year for make up tests and exams provided there is space available. The instructor must contact SASS office to make the arrangements. These tests are only scheduled during regular office hours.
Students enrolled in Franciscan University’s Distance Learning courses may schedule an appointment with SASS to have their exams proctored. To schedule an exam, the student needs to fills out a Distance Learning Exam Application, and bring the form to SASS to have the proctor verification signed and to schedule an appointment to take the test. Once the form is returned, the Distance Learning Office will send SASS the exam. SASS will administer the exam to the student on the scheduled date and time and return the completed exam to the Distance Learning Office.
A fee of $10 is charged for proctoring each Distance Learning exam. Prior to taking the exam, the student must pay the fee at the Student Accounts counter in Starvaggi Hall, and bring the receipt to the scheduled testing appointment.
The College-Level Examination Program, or CLEP, provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate courses. The tests are computer based and are available to students who have not yet completed 26 credits of college coursework. Consult the CLEP Score Sheet for a complete list of approved tests, course equivalents, and the minimum scores required to receive credit. The cost per individual test is $80.00 (*this fee is subject to change*). Please call (740) 284-5263 to schedule an appointment.
