STEUBENVILLE, OH—Franciscan University’s Works of Mercy Program completed a week-long community service project—Harvest for the Hungry—that collected food items for the Unity Soup Kitchen of the Urban Mission in downtown Steubenville.
Students collected bags full of non-perishable items from local residents on October 21 and donated them to the Urban Mission for distribution to the poor in the local area. Over 120 pounds of food were collected.
"People gave generously," said Andrew Moe, student coordinator of Works of Mercy. "We collected several bags of food from each house we visited."
