STEUBENVILLE, OH — Those interested in volunteer ministry opportunities are invited to the Lay Vocations Fair, to be held on Tuesday, March 3, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Tony and Nina Gentile Gallery of the J. C. Williams Center, at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Once part of the University’s annual Career Fair, the Lay Vocations Fair is now its own event, featuring booths from a dozen not-for-profit agencies from across the country. Most are seeking summer interns or help in mission work on a volunteer basis, though some offer stipends.
Among the visiting agencies: Catholic Social Workers National Association from Cincinnati, Ohio; Military Community Youth Ministries from Colorado Springs, Colorado; NET Ministries from West St. Paul, Minnesota; FRATERNUS, Inc., from St. Augustine, Florida; and Family Missions Company from Abbeville, Louisiana.
The fair is sponsored by Franciscan University’s Career Services Office, which helps students discover their God-given potential and obtain professional employment by offering career workshops and one-on-one consultation.
