Honorary Degree Recipient and homilist: Most Reverend Michael J. Higgins, minister general of the Third Order Regular Franciscan religious community (900-plus members active in 17 countries).

Graduate Commencement
Conferral of master's degrees in theology, philosophy, nursing, education, educational administration, counseling, and business administration.
Honorary Degree Recipient and Speaker: Dr. Paul Kengor, author of God and Ronald Reagan and other presidential biographies and director of the Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College, PA, a think tank and public policy center. Dr. Kengor will address how Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II fought against the "dictatorship of relativism."

Undergraduate Commencement
Over 450 students will graduate from Franciscan University with bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, or associate of arts degrees. They will receive a sendoff from honorary degree recipient and speaker Michael Novak, the renowned political thinker, author, and defender of Catholic principles in the public square. The title of his speech is, "Knowing the Unknowable God--How Most People Know the Presence of God."
