Spring Mission Trips

STEUBENVILLE, OH—From March 1-9, Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Missions of Peace will sponsor eight mission trips in the United States and four countries, where students will evangelize and serve the poor, elderly, and homeless in many tangible ways. Last year, over 250 Franciscan University students spent their spring breaks with Missions of Peace.

Among the highlights of this year’s mission trips, students will: teach school children in Belize how to build each other up as the body of Christ, build and paint homes in Mexico, as well as share testimonies; make door-to-door visits to the Chippewa Indians in North Dakota, and share Christ’s love with homeless men in Chicago. Students will also travel to the Bronx, New Mexico, and Honduras, while some remain in Steubenville to serve the local community.

The University’s Student Life Department also sponsors Sonlife, a yearly mission trip to Florida. Over their spring break, 45 studentswill travel to Key West and share the Gospel with those they encounter on the beach and at a Lenten retreat at their host parish.

Missions of Peace is one of Franciscan University’s most active student outreach programs, which includes many activities with children, families, and the elderly in the Steubenville area.
