STEUBENVILLE, OH —Ring in the Advent season with the choirs of Franciscan University of Steubenville as they present the annual Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols on Tuesday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.
Featuring the combined talents of the Franciscan University Chorale and the Schola Cantorum Franciscana in an evening of seasonal music and readings, the program includes traditional Advent hymns, Christmas carols, and choral works interspersed with Scripture readings anticipating the arrival of the Christ Child.
"Always a highly anticipated event, the festival is a beautiful way to begin the holiday season with carols from the Medieval to the present," says Dr. Paul Weber, music professor and director of the Schola Cantorum Franciscana.
The Franciscan University Chorale is directed by Franciscan University music professor Dr. Alanna Keenan.
Lessons and Carols is free and open to the public.
