Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am very excited to assume my new role as president ofFranciscan University of Steubenville. Our students pour their hearts intotheir education and their prayer life; they desire to fall in love with God andthe Church, and strive to become saints. Through their witness, they encourageme to become a better friar and priest—and all of us at Franciscan to respondwithout reservation to the many invitations that God extends.
In fall 2013, we began to implement our Catholic Core, anewly revised curriculum that immerses our students in the treasures of WesternCivilization and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. They study the best mindsof the past and present—Augustine and Aristotle to Popes John Paul II, BenedictXVI, and Francis. At Franciscan, academic excellence means producing Catholicgraduates as ready for the challenges of a secular culture as they are fortheir careers.
If you desire an academically excellent education rooted inpassionate Catholicism, if you want to be prepared to meet the challenges ofthe secular world, I invite you to learn more about Franciscan University . . .where you will also learn more about yourself and the person God created you tobe.
In Christ and St. Francis,
