STEUBENVILLE, OH— Dr. Dominic Halsmer, director of the Faith and Learning Institute at Oral Roberts University, will give a talk on November 8 at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Halmser will speak on “Science and the Wisdom of God: How the Study of Nature Unveils an Incredible Ingenuity That Underlies Our Evolving Universe.”
Halsmer’s talk, which is sponsored by the University’s Engineering Dual Degree Program, will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Pugliese Auditorium, Ss. Cosmas and Damian Science Hall. Several Franciscan University faculty members will briefly respond to Halsmer’s talk, followed by a question and answer session. The event is free and open to the public.
Halsmer, former dean of science and engineering at Oral Roberts University, earned his doctorate in mechanical engineering from UCLA and has taught at Oral Roberts University since 1992. He has participated in the NASA/ASEE Summer Faculty Fellowship Program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and his research interests include studying how the universe is engineered to reveal the glory of God.
