STEUBENVILLE, OHIO—Franciscan University of Steubenville has released a new season of In Focus, a free video series on FaithandReason.com. In the seven-part “Scripture Changes Everything,” host Father Dave Pivonka, TOR ’89, president of Franciscan University, sits down with Dr. Scott Hahn, Franciscan University theology professor, to discuss the importance of the Bible, its role in prayer and liturgy, and how it can be a source of unity among Christians.

“As a priest, I often hear people say they are intimidated to read Scripture, but understanding the Bible is vital to our faith,” Father Pivonka said. “Dr. Scott Hahn is such a knowledgeable Scripture scholar, and our conversation illuminates the Bible in a way that is not only intellectual but also deeply personal, showing viewers how God has revealed and continues to reveal himself to us through his Word.”

Hahn is the Father Michael Scanlan, TOR, Professor of Biblical Theology and the New Evangelization at Franciscan University. A prolific author, his published works include Rome Sweet Home, The Lamb’s Supper, and Catholics in Exile: Biblical Wisdom for the Journey Home.

In Focus takes an in-depth look at culture, science, politics, the arts, theology, and current issues through the lens of reason and faith. The first season, “Confronting a Woke World,” featured author Noelle Mering MA ’22 on how Catholics can understand and confront woke ideology.
