STEUBENVILLE, OH—The Franciscan University Chapter of Enactus will host Project Bootstraps: “A Discussion With Six Successful Local Entrepreneurs” on Thursday, March 20, at 7:00 p.m. at Franciscan University of Steubenville. The discussion will focus on assisting local citizens who own or are considering owning a small business. It will take place in the Seminar Room of the St. Joseph Center. Refreshments will be served.
Six business owners will participate in the event: John DiCarlo of JD DiCarlo Distributing Company; Jim McBane of McBane Insurance and Financial Services; Lou DiGregory of DiGregory’s Greenhouse and Garden Center; Butch Simon of Toronto Auto Parts; Rich DeLuca of Axess Management Group; and Jim Emmerling of EM-Media, Inc.
These owners will discuss how they established their businesses and how they maintain, improve, and continue to succeed during difficult economic times. They will also answer questions from the audience.
Just as its name implies, Dr. Thomas Kelly, Franciscan University business professor, says he hopes the Project Bootstraps seminar will inspire budding entrepreneurs “to use their talents and skills to open their own businesses and improve the lives of citizens throughout the local community.”
Project Bootstraps is sponsored by the Franciscan University Chapter of Enactus, (formerly Students in Free Enterprise), the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Small Business Development Center, and the Steubenville Herald Star.
The event is free and open to the public. For convenient parking from University Boulevard, take Franciscan Way West (the road between the two hotels), to the St. Joseph Center parking lot
