Steubenville, OH— The Pittsburgh Camerata, an a capella chamber choir, will perform at Franciscan University of Steubenville on Saturday, January 25, 2014.
The concert will take place at 8:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel and will feature works from the middle of the choral ensemble’s 38-year history, when it entered its “fields of praise” era. The choir will perform works by Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Johannes Brahms, Benjamin Britten, and “Fern Hill” by John Corigliano.
The Pittsburgh Camerata features Renaissance/Baroque and 20th-century music. Since its founding in 1974, the mixed choir has performed over 1,000 different pieces of music.
The concert is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Franciscan University Fine Arts Society.
