The Advantage of a Franciscan Education

Get a head start on college with Franciscan Advantage! 

High school students now have the opportunity to earn college credits through Franciscan University—and at an extremely affordable rate.  

Juniors and seniors can earn up to 36 credits while still in high school. These credits can be counted toward completion of an undergraduate degree at Franciscan and may also be transferable to other colleges and universities. Students have access to Franciscan Life Online to help foster a vibrant sense of community amongst learners.  

Eligibility requirements:

Minimum age of 16

Enrolled in high school as a junior or senior 

Possess a cumulative 2.4 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) 

High School Partnerships

Students earn college and high school credit by taking courses at their high school that are aligned with Franciscan University’s curriculum and successfully completing college-level examinations.

Dual Enrollment

Earn college credits online while still a high school student. Dual Enrollment courses are offered at an extremely discounted rate to help you get a head start on your college career.

Learn how high school students can earn college credit through two distinct pathways—Partnership and Dual Enrollment.

 

Partnership Dual Enrollment
  • Open to Juniors / Seniors in Partnership Schools
  • Full-year course
  • Taught by high school teacher
  • Evaluated by Franciscan University
  • $150 per credit hour
  • Maximum five courses per year and 29 total credits
  • Automatic $2,000/year scholarship every year for four years with successful completion of one course and attending Franciscan University
  • Automatic acceptance into Franciscan University with a 3.0 GPA in three or more classes
  • Students earn an official transcript
  • Textbooks are part of Partnership Schools
  • Open to any rising junior or senior, at least 16 years of age, with a 2.4 GPA
  • Semester based (fall, spring, summer)
  • Asynchronous courses — online or in person
  • $150 per credit hour
  • Maximum two courses per semester and 36 total credits
  • Automatic acceptance into Franciscan University with a 3.0 GPA in three or more classes
  • Students earn an official transcript
  • Additional purchase of textbooks may be required
