STEUBENVILLE, OH—The AIM Women’s Center was named the recipient of the annual Parkhurst Dining/Franciscan University of Steubenville Love Where You Live Grant.
Parkhurst Dining, the University’s campus dining partner, awards a $5,000 grant each year to benefit the greater Steubenville community. Parkhurst is a division of the Eat’n Park Hospitality Group.
AIM, founded in Steubenville in 1987, supports women and families in crisis. In 2016, AIM had over 1,230 patient visits. AIM provides free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and counseling to women in crisis pregnancy. AIM also offers a daily helpline, monthly material assistance, and BRIDGES/Parenting classes.
“We wanted to recognize AIM for the many life-saving services they provide in our community. AIM does work with women in crisis pregnancy, however, they also provide classes to women to help them become better mothers and to make good choices for their lives,” said Matthew Schaefer, director of Student Development at Franciscan.
Established in 2016, the grant is awarded annually to a different nonprofit in the community. In 2016, Dirty Vagabond Ministries received the Parkhurst Dining/Franciscan University of Steubenville Love Where You Live Grant.
