STEUBENVILLE, OHIO — On Friday, September 19, Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Criminal Justice Program will hold its fifth annual Criminal Justice Career Fair. This will be the largest career fair in the department’s history, with 43 agencies present to speak with participants about careers and opportunities within the criminal justice system.
The free event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Pope St. Paul VI Conference Center in Christ the Teacher Hall at Franciscan University. The general public, highschoolers, prospective students, and University students of all majors are welcome and encouraged to attend to find out about a wide range of job offerings available.
“This is a criminal justice career fair not just for the University, but for the people of the entire region to take advantage of,” said Dr. Charles Nemeth, director of Franciscan University’s Criminal Justice Program.
Representatives will be present from the United States Marine Corps; Border Patrol; Coast Guard; Supreme Court Police; Airforce ROTC; Drug Enforcement Agency; Ohio Division of Wildlife; Ohio State Highway Patrol; Duquesne University Police; Michigan, Arizona, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio justice departments; Regent University, University of Akron, Ave Maria University, Cleveland State University, and Catholic University law schools; local law enforcement, fire departments, and agencies; and many others.
Agency and law school representatives will answer questions about opportunities within the criminal justice, law enforcement, and legal fields. Job opportunities for all experience levels are available for social workers, nurses, police officers, lawyers, clerks, fire officials, federal law enforcement officers, and many others.
