The Diocese of Steubenville and Franciscan University of Steubenville jointly announced today that eucharistic adoration will be offered at Finnegan Fieldhouse at Franciscan University (get directions or join via livestream) beginning Wednesday, May 6, at 9:00 a.m.

Eucharistic adoration is open to the public and will be available weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The fieldhouse is often used for large liturgical gatherings at Franciscan and can accommodate State of Ohio social distance guidelines. A number of chairs will be placed six-feet apart throughout the fieldhouse. There can only be one person per chair, and chairs may not be moved.

There is no need to sign up since Franciscan University will make sure at least one adorer is present every hour.

This will be the only designated location in the Diocese of Steubenville for eucharistic adoration.

Diocese of Steubenville Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton said he is grateful for the collaboration between the diocese and the University because the fieldhouse allows the greatest ease for social distancing, adding, “The Eucharist is a sacrament of love; the Lord welcomes us, as together, we worship him in solidarity and in communion of faith.”
