Entrepreneurship Program
The Leadership Institute at Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) invites applications for a full-time director of the entrepreneurship program. We invite qualified professionals and faculty who can lead the entrepreneurship program and develop and teach compelling entrepreneurship classes. This faculty position begins in either January or August 2026.
The candidate we are seeking should be passionate about the mission of the University and teaching excellence. The candidate should also have a compelling vision for leadership and entrepreneurship principles grounded in the free-market system and Catholic teaching. In addition, the candidate should have a growth mindset to drive excitement and inspire students who seek a vocation as an entrepreneur.
Franciscan University, founded in 1946 by friars of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Province of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis of Penance, integrates excellent academic programs with a dynamic faith environment to serve 2,500 students from all 50 states and 17 countries on campus and an additional 1,000 students online. One of only 18 faithfully Catholic universities in the U.S. endorsed by the Cardinal Newman Society, Franciscan University of Steubenville continues to lead the renaissance of Catholic higher education called for in Ex corde Ecclesiae.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach undergraduate entrepreneurship courses (entrepreneurial accounting and finance for startups; entrepreneurial marketing and strategy; entrepreneurial leadership including people, performance and culture; entrepreneurship lab; and/or entrepreneurship capstone)
- Articulate and implement a strategic vision for the entrepreneurship program, which is geared towards non-business majors interested in launching their own startup or nonprofit.
- Provide students with the practical, real-world skills need to launch and build a startup or nonprofit aligned with Catholic teaching and FUS values.
- Ensure high quality student learning by employing best practice approaches to teaching; proactively reviewing student teaching evaluations; and, as needed, collaborating with business department and other faculty to drive excellence.
- Support and connect students with internship opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty on program development initiatives.
- Be a present and visible leader of the program on campus, with the local business community, and with the candidate’s professional discipline.
- Participate and engage with program accreditation duties.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Engage in university service as fitting the leadership institute’s expectations and faculty expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated background and experience with launching and managing startups
- A graduate degree in finance, economics, marketing, accounting or other business discipline with a track record of significant real-world experience and implementation
- A passion for the mission of the University
- Ability to work in a team
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence
