STEUBENVILLE, OH—The documentary film Eggsploitation will be shown at Franciscan University of Steubenville on Wednesday, April 2. The screening will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Tony and Nina Gentile Gallery in the J.C. Williams Center. The event is co-sponsored by the University’s Veritas Center for Ethics in Public Life and the Institute of Bioethics.

Eggsploitation takes a critical look at how the infertility industry in the United States has become a multi-billion dollar business. Through the tragic and revealing stories of young women solicited to donate eggs, the film reveals the unseen scandals of the egg donation industry.

The executive producer and director of Eggsploitation, Jennifer Lahl, will discuss the film at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2 in Egan Hall, Room 204.

Lahl is founder and president of the Center for Bioethics and Culture Network. She is a speaker, writer, and filmmaker who draws on her 25 years of pediatric critical care nursing, senior level nursing management, and graduate training in bioethics to promote a life-affirming conscience in science, medicine, and public policy.

The screening of Lahl’s film is part of Franciscan University’s Distinguished Speakers Series, which hosts leaders who integrate their faith and public life and thereby inspire the next generation to be a transforming presence in the Church and society.
