STEUBENVILLE, OH—For the third year in a row, Franciscan University of Steubenville has made the Forbes list of America’s Top Colleges, ranking in the top 10 percent of America’s 4,726 degree-granting institutions.
A leading source of business news, Forbes uses outcome-based criteria to compile an annual list of the best 660 colleges and universities in America. Student satisfaction, academic success, high graduation rate, and post-graduate success factored into Franciscan’s ranking.
Forbes senior editor Caroline Howard said Forbes partnered with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity to look at the return on investment of a college education, helping students and their families answer questions such as “Are current undergrads satisfied? Is it likely I’ll graduate on time or incur a ton of student debt? Will I get a good job and be a leader in my chosen profession?”
In its profile of Franciscan University, Forbes cited Franciscan’s core curriculum, mentioning courses such as Foundations of Catholicism, Christian Moral Principles, and Scripture and Tradition. They also cited the engineering dual-degree program, and the faith household system, which has over 900 student members.
