STEUBENVILLE, OHIO — Franciscan University of Steubenville will host its annual Homecoming Weekend September 26–28, 2025.

The weekend festivities will begin on Friday with tours of the newly renovated Christ the King Chapel led by Franciscan friars from 4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. The Household Life Mass is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse. The Alumni Awards Banquet will begin with a reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Pope St. Paul VI Event Center. The Student Talent Show will be held Friday at 8:00 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse.

Saturday, September 27, kicks off with the annual Kelly Roggensack Memorial Races at 8:00 a.m. on campus at Assisi Heights. The Homecoming Mass and a Nuptial Vow Blessing will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse. From 12:00 p.m-3:30 p.m., the St. Francis Festival will take place at the J.C. Williams Center, Pavilion, and Rosary Circle, featuring food, vendors, inflatables (socks required), and the Kid’s Kingdom Crafts & Games. A play depicting the life of St. Francis of Assisi is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Christ the King Chapel Courtyard.

A Blessing of the Animals will be held at 2:45 p.m. outside Portiuncula Chapel. All are welcome to attend with pets and other animals on leashes or in carriers.

Alumni who graduated in years ending in 0 or 5 are also welcome to attend a special reunion from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. in the Pope St. Paul VI Event Center.

Sporting events for the weekend include a rugby game at 1:00 p.m. and a women’s volleyball game at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. An alumni beer garden will be open from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the rugby field. An alumni women’s lacrosse match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and an alumni men’s lacrosse game will take place on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

To close out the weekend, a Festival of Praise with eucharistic adoration will be held Saturday at 8:00 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse. Sunday Mass with a Parents Blessing will be held at 10:00 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse.
