Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Psychology

The Psychology Department at Franciscan University of Steubenville invites applications for a full-time, open-rank, tenure-track position beginning Fall 2027. We seek dedicated educators and dynamic scholars who are passionate about academic excellence and integrating the Catholic faith with psychology.

Teaching Load: Four courses per semester (fall and spring), primarily in face-to-face formats.
Optional Summer Teaching: Available for those interested in additional opportunities.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentorship of undergraduate students.
  • Maintain an active research program and integrate undergraduate students into meaningful research experiences.
  • Specialization in clinical or counseling psychology, or a related field.

 

Teaching Opportunities:

Course needs include options selected from among the following that best match the candidate’s strengths:

  • Clinical: Intro to Counseling, Intro to Group Counseling, Interview & Assessment, Abnormal Psychology, Personality Theory
  • Faith & Psychology: Human & Spiritual Integration, Spirituality in the Helping Profession, Marriage Family & Spiritual Issues in Counseling

 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in psychology or a related discipline by the time of appointment. ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service in alignment with the mission of Franciscan University.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is limited to TN status (Canadian and Mexican citizens only).
