The Department of Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin August 2026. Review of applications will begin Oct. 17 and continue until the position is filled.
The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in philosophy, a track record of teaching excellence, an active research program (publications preferred), devotion to service, support for the university mission, and a willingness to take the Oath of Fidelity. Â The AOS and AOC are open, but a knowledge of the Catholic philosophical tradition is essential.

- a statement of your teaching philosophy and how it fits with the vision of Catholic higher education expressed in Ex corde Ecclesiae;
- a statement of understanding of the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville;
- three letters of reference;
- and official transcripts.
