The Psychology Department at Franciscan University of Steubenville invites applications for two full-time, tenure track positions, one open-rank and one assistant professor, beginning Fall 2026. We seek dedicated educators and dynamic scholars who are passionate about academic excellence and integrating the Catholic faith with psychology.

Who We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentorship of undergraduate students.
- Maintain an active research program and integrate undergraduate students into meaningful research experiences.
- Specialize in any area of psychology, with preference given to one candidate with a clinically oriented specialty.Â
Teaching Opportunities
Course assignments may include options drawing from the following areas:
Intro, Social, Personality, Human Development, Research Methods & Statistics, IO Psychology,
Clinical/Counseling, and courses that integrate Catholicism with Psychology.
Teaching Load: Four courses per semester (fall and spring), primarily in face-to-face formats.
Optional Summer Teaching: Available for those interested in additional opportunities.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in psychology or a related discipline by the time of appointment. ABD candidates will be considered.
- Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service in alignment with the mission of Franciscan University.Â
