STEUBENVILLE, OHIO—Franciscan University of Steubenville will host its annual Homecoming Weekend September 27–29, 2024.

The weekend festivities will begin with a Household Life Mass at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, September 27, in Finnegan Fieldhouse. The Alumni Awards Banquet will start with a reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Pope St. Paul VI Conference Center in Christ the Teacher Hall. The student talent show will be at 7:00 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse.

The annual Kelly Roggensack Memorial Races will kick off on Saturday, September 28, at 8:00 a.m. A Homecoming Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse. The St. Francis Festival from 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. outside the J.C. Williams Center will offer food, crafts, games, and inflatables, plus a play depicting the life of St. Francis of Assisi at 1:00 p.m.

A blessing of the animals will be held at 2:45 p.m. outside the Portiuncula Chapel. All are welcome to attend with pets and other animals on leashes or in carriers.

Franciscan University alumni who are celebrating milestone wedding anniversaries can join an Alumni Nuptial Vow Blessing, which will be at 4:00 p.m. in the J.C. Williams Center Gentile Gallery. Registration is required.

Alumni who graduated in years ending in 4 or 9 are also welcome to attend a special reunion starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Pope St. Paul VI Conference Center.

Sporting events for the weekend include a rugby game and a men’s soccer game, both at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. An alumni beer garden will be open from 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. at the rugby field. A women’s soccer game will follow at 3:30 p.m., and men’s alumni lacrosse matches will be held at 6:00 p.m.

To close out the weekend, a Festival of Praise with eucharistic adoration will be held Saturday at 8:00 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse. Two Sunday Masses will be offered in Finnegan Fieldhouse, at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
