For High School Seniors
All scholarships for seniors in high school are based on your cumulative, weighted GPA from your high school transcript at time of acceptance. To maintain consistency in merit scholarship awarding, it is our policy that the student’s high school GPA is subject to re-calculation to match our standard 4.0 GPA scale, due to the variance in high school course weighting systems. Our admissions team uses a standardized GPA calculator to determine the student’s cumulative weighted GPA at the time of review.
These scholarships are for on-ground students only and not for 100% on-line students. You must be full-time to receive the merit scholarship which is a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester. Continuing students will keep their scholarship and amounts they were awarded upon acceptance. If you switch from on-ground to completely on-line the scholarship will be suspended while you are on-line. If you begin 100% on-line and switch to on-ground we will award you the merit scholarship based on your date of admittance.
High school seniors entering the 2026–2027 academic year and residing on campus will qualify for a merit scholarship ranging from $9,000 to $21,000 annually, determined by an Admissions review of their cumulative weighted GPA on a standard 4.0 scale.
For Transfer Students
You must have completed at least 24 college credits. (If you have not completed 24 college credits, your scholarship could depend on your high school information and test scores.) Transfer student scholarships are based on your cumulative GPA in college.
Transfer students enrolling for the 2026-2027 academic year will qualify for a merit scholarship ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 annually, based on an Admission review of their cumulative college GPA.
Other New Student Scholarships
We also offer scholarship opportunities for students who qualify. Please contact your admissions counselor if you have any questions.
- Commuter Grant – Students who graduate from a local high school and apply directly to Franciscan, and who live at home with a parent or guardian within a 50-mile radius of campus can receive this grant for half the cost of tuition. If awarded the Commuter Grant it will replace any other merit scholarships, and the student will receive whichever is higher. The Commuter Grant amount is $18,250 yearly. You must be enrolled full-time, be on-campus and it is for the Fall and Spring semesters only. The commuter grant does not cover summer semester or 100% online students.
