Steps for Admissions

Step 1: Apply Online

To launch your student journey at Franciscan, start by completing our free online application. It only takes about 15 minutes, and we don’t require any letters of recommendation for admission.

Before beginning the application process, please read our undergraduate admissions requirements.

Additionally, since we utilize rolling admissions, there are no formal deadlines. We review applications year-round so that you can apply whenever you’re ready.

Step 2: Send in Your Transcripts

High school applicants are required to submit a copy of their high school transcript with their junior year grades and senior year schedule. Transfer applicants must submit a copy of any/all college transcripts. All students will be required to submit final, official transcripts prior to enrolling at Franciscan. Please submit transcripts to [email protected] or send it via mail to:

Office of Admissions

If you are transferring from another institution, you must submit official transcripts from every institution attended. For more details, explore our transfer admissions information.

Step 3: Submit Your Test Scores or a Personal Essay

Along with your application and transcripts, high school applicants must submit either their SAT, ACT, or CLT score or a short personal essay.

  • Test Scores: You can send your scores as part of your transcript, directly from the testing agency, or as a PDF attachment emailed to Admissions.
  • Personal Essay Option: If you’re applying for Spring 2026 or Fall 2026 with a 3.2 or higher cumulative weighted GPA, you may submit a one-page, double-spaced essay instead of test scores.

Essay Prompt:

At Franciscan University, our mission is “to educate, evangelize, and send forth joyful disciples.” Share a story or example from your life that shows how your faith and intellectual growth have shaped you into who you are today. How do you hope your time at Franciscan University will help you continue to grow spiritually and academically?

Please email your essay to [email protected] with the subject line: “Undergraduate Admissions Essay.”
