STEUBENVILLE, OH—Franciscan University of Steubenville will host a Blessing of Animals on Saturday, October 2, at 2:45 p.m., outside the Portiuncula Chapel. All are welcome to attend with pets and other animals.

Father Shawn Roberson, TOR, Franciscan University chaplain, will bless any animals on leashes or in carriers.

The blessing ceremony is part of the annual Homecoming Weekend, which centers around the life of University patron, St. Francis of Assisi. In case of inclement weather, the blessing will be held near the entrance to Finnegan Fieldhouse.

The Blessing of Animals is one of many events planned for Franciscan University Homecoming Weekend, October 1-3.
