Father Jonathan St. Andre, TOR
Vice President for Franciscan Life
Fr. Jonathan St. Andre, TOR grew up in Reston, Virginia in the suburbs of Washington D.C. He started his journey at Franciscan University in 1992 when he began his undergraduate studies on our campus. He went on to graduate with his Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Human Services in 1996. It was at Franciscan that Fr. Jonathan was introduced to the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular. Through his interactions with the TORs during his time at Franciscan, Fr. Jonathan felt the call to a religious vocation and entered the order in 1998.
After joining the TORs, Fr. Jonathan also felt moved to join the priesthood. He was ordained in 2006. In addition to his bachelor’s degree, Fr. Jonathan earned his Master of Divinity as well as his Master of Arts in Franciscan Studies. In both his studies and his work, Fr. Jonathan has focused on the application of Franciscan spirituality to leadership and team building.
At Franciscan, campus ministry has been guided by Fr. Jonathan’s influence. He has served as the Director of Vocations and the Director of Novices. For the past 3 years, Fr. Jonathan has been the Vice President of Franciscan Life. In this role he reinforces the Catholic and Franciscan charisms of the university through faculty and student programs. The members of the Franciscan community benefit greatly from Fr. Jonathan’s wisdom, kindness, and spiritual leadership.
