Student Enrollment Checklist

Your Port account gives you single sign-on access to your student email, your financial aid awards and bill, helpful groups and information, your class schedule, housing assignment, and more.

Your preset username and password can be found in the email sent to you when you were accepted. Contact your admissions counselor if you need assistance.

Start by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) using the school code 003036 to maximize the financial aid available to you. Our Financial Aid Office will use your FAFSA information to prepare your award package, including any grants, scholarships, and other aid for which you qualify.

Once your awards are available, visit the Finances & Accounts tab in your Port account. Complete any required forms, including the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling if you are accepting federal aid, and click Accept My Awards to accept your financial aid. Your acceptance is nonbinding, and you can make adjustments before paying your bill.

If you have made your housing deposit, your next step is to complete the New Student Housing Application via your Port account. This is where you will complete your roommate matching profile, search for or request a roommate, and select your meal plan. We encourage you to explore floor plans and photos of the residence halls through the Resources tab on the Admissions page of your Port account.

We’ll also need a completed Immunization Waiver Health form prior to Orientation. Additionally, there is a voluntary Health Record form that we strongly encourage you to complete so that it’s on file in case of an emergency.

Both forms can be found under the Applications tab in the residence portal. Visit the Baron Health and Wellness Center page or contact [email protected] with any questions about our Health Center and Counseling Services.

The Office of the Registrar will preregister you based on your declared major and any transfer credits you have already earned. Your schedule will be listed under the Academics tab on your Port account. It’s important that you fill out this advising questionnaire so we can put together the best schedule for you.

If you have proficiency in a foreign language, you should also take the Language Placement Exam before Orientation or early in your first year. The exam may allow you to test out of some or all of the language requirements. We encourage students in all majors to consider taking it since your major may change.

Before arriving on campus, upload a photo for your Franciscan student ID.

You’ll use your student ID to access your residence hall, use your meal plan and make other purchases, and access printing services on campus. You’ll receive your ID when you arrive.

When uploading your photo, click the camera icon in your profile to open the upload window. If you experience an error, make sure only one pop-up window is open.

Your final official transcripts must be on file with the Office of Admissions before your first semester of classes begins, or you will have a hold placed on your account and won’t be able to register for the next semester until they are received.

Visit the Finances & Accounts section of your Port account to review your balance and access the Online Payment Center.

From there, you can pay your balance, set up a payment plan, or invite someone else to make payments on your account.

Baron Day is a special event for students beginning in the fall semester. Held before Orientation, it gives you the opportunity to become familiar with campus, meet future classmates, connect with faculty and staff, and complete important enrollment tasks before the semester begins.

Visit the Baron Day page for dates, registration, and additional details. If you aren’t able to attend Baron Day, you’ll still have opportunities to complete these tasks during Orientation.

PathwayU is a career discernment assessment that explores your interests, values, personality, and workplace preferences to identify careers that may be a good fit.

We recommend completing the assessment before Baron Day or Orientation so Career Services can help you begin exploring your personal vocation and career goals.

New students are automatically enrolled in Franciscan’s Slingshot textbook program. Your required textbooks are ordered based on your class schedule and will update automatically if your schedule changes.

Fall 2026 Move-in/Orientation is Thursday, August 20, 2026, with Orientation programming continuing throughout the weekend. Families are welcome to join!

There is no formal deadline to deposit. However, accepted students must submit their $500 enrollment deposit and housing and roommate selection by May 1.

Four semesters of a foreign language are required for all Bachelor of Arts degrees, and the placement exam offers students with proficiency in a foreign language the opportunity to test out of some or all of these requirements.

We encourage all majors to take the exam before Orientation or early in their first year.

You’ll use your Port account to fill out your roommate-matching profile and begin searching for roommates. You can also find potential roommates by following @fusfall2026 on Instagram.

Once you know who you’d like as your roommate(s), you’ll make your roommate requests through your Port account by May 1 to guarantee placement.

You’ll receive your ID upon arrival on campus and can use it to access your residence hall, purchase meals, and print on campus.

To begin the process of obtaining your ID, you may upload a photo for your card online . When uploading your photo, click on the camera icon in your profile to enable a pop-up window. If you experience errors, ensure that only one pop-up window is open at a time.

We highly recommend completing PathwayU before Baron Day and Orientation so that you’re well positioned for our Career Services team to guide you on your personal vocation journey.

Your textbooks will be automatically ordered via Slingshot in December for the spring semester or late July for the fall semester, based on your class schedule.

If you’re a new student, you’ll be automatically opted in to Slingshot, unless you manually opt out before the semester.

Your textbooks are hard-copy rentals by default. Any textbooks you order ahead of time will be available for in-store pickup or waiting in your residence hall when you arrive on campus.

If your class schedule changes, your textbooks will automatically change for you, and you can make free returns during the first week of classes.

You can set up a payment plan , send a payee invite, and pay your balance through your Online Payment Center on the Financial Aid and Student Accounts page in your Port account.

The fall bill or first payment is due July 15. The spring bill is due December 15.
